Ty Segall has become one one of the best musicians that I've come across in the past few years. On a personal level, his 2013 acoustic based album "Sleeper", was the main source of inspiration for me during the writing process of my own solo EP of acoustic songs, "Feel The Creeps". Another qualification seemed to come from how effortless his music seems to come out of him, and how constant he seems to produce new music from a wide variety of groups and projects that he plays in. Known for both playing his eclectic guitar styles, singing in his own self titled group and playing drums in the incredibly talented psych-rock band Fuzz, Ty is the type of musician that always has something in the works.
With that in mind, his very own Ty Segall band is on the verge of an amazing reissue of both their T. Rex cover EPs; 2011's, Ty-Rex, and the 2013 7" follow-up, Ty-Rex ll. With the constant comparison to the old school glam rockers Marc Bolin and T. Rex, the new Ty Rex reissue will serve as a propper tip of the hat so to speak to the legends of the glam rock era that paved the way for great artists like Ty by combining both Eps together and adding a bonus cover into the mix, "20th Century Boy". While the album doesn't drop until this Black Friday, November 27th, he has given us "Buick Mackane" to listen to until then.
