Hello, inter-webs! How are you doing these days? It feels so good to be back online after a very long but necessary break from the website. I would be lying if I said that we didn't miss you during our hiatus, but the band really needed to take some time to focus on all aspects of the band like live performance, writing and recording our current musical endeavors. As you may or may not know, we have already written and recorded the first half of our newest album this past Spring in San Francisco. The new album will be comprised of two 5 song EP's, the first of the two being titled "SOL". The mixing and mastering stages have been complete for about a month now and graphics are basically wrapped up as well. If everything goes to plan, we should be on track to release our newest EP before Christmas!
Outside of the new EP, we have had a great year in the Overland world. This summer was a truly amazing three months for us. We had so many awesome shows, like the 2015 Sierra Trek and Mountain Vibe Music Gathering 6! We'll be posting a separate post for those two events because there were too many great moments to share, and some unavoidable bad moments too. The time spent up in those mountains with one another, time spent drinking moonshine with strangers and sharing our music with both new and familiar faces, are some of the best memories we could create. We're alrways trying to make sure everyone has a good time at our shows so we like when we get to have a little more fun than usual at a gig........cut to Halloween 2015 with The Brock Brothers!

Halloween 2015 with Phil and Pete
Now, we here in Overland are not afraid to party. We like to have a good time just as much as the next guy or gal, but I dont think anyone knows how to through a party better than these two fine young gentlemen pictured above. Ladies and gentlemen, meet The Brock Brothers, Pete and Phil. In case you were wondering, they ARE twins and they are a couple of awesome human beings to say the least. Not only are these guys long time Overland supporters AND great at hosting a party/live show, they are also two of the most humble and honest people that you will ever meet in this world. It is always an honor for Overland to be around these fellas so cheers to you guys.
The party was such a good mix of people dressed up in a variety of outfits and costumes. We got to catch up with a lot of old friends that we haven't seen in a while while making new friends at the same time. The music kicked off with the one and only Lazy Boy Troy and the always amazing Dennis Hazleton. Both of these men were fantastic at serenading the crowd to get everyone up off their feet and moving. After they were finished, we came onto the stage and played a really intense and incredibly fun set that lasted about an hour and a half. There was not planned set list, no idea what was going to happen, but we were 100% ready for whatever the night had in store for us.
Through a thick haze of smoke, cobwebs, thunderous drums, and strobe lights, we somehow managed to pull off one hell of a set that made the crowd ask for two encores. We haveno idea what they were. At one point, we even played as a backing track for people to freestyle rap over. We'd like to thank the homie Derek for kicking off the freestyle rap portion of the night. It all happened so fast that we we're basically out of sweat and energy by the time we finished our last song so everything worked out perfect. All and all, it was a fantastic night full of great people, great music and great memories. To everyone that was there celebrating with us, thank you for letting Overland get loud in the back yard with you all on Halloween this year! Maybe we'll see you next year?....
